Our growth driver, inspiring teams to collaborate

At IPIC, we believe Innovation is similar to a team sport. For projects to succeed, they must be staffed with the right combination of talent. We use empowerment, clear objectives and impact to bottom line to drive innovations.

Our teams are asked to bring fresh ideas on Mondays. We find that this sparks genuine collaboration after a weekend break, and usually all team members are excited to build on each other’s ideas.

Our experience shows that a well-constructed team that brings together the needed abilities of a world-class innovator can compensate for the lack of “founders.” To do this, first you must understand what the critical traits are that drive the most successful innovators, and second, you must have a method of assessing your employees against these traits. With this information in hand, companies are able to form high-performing innovation teams.

Whether or not the separate innovation function’s outcomes are linked to financial targets is neither a reliable measure nor a guarantee of success. Rather, our experience suggests that a better measure of performance is the function’s success at playing its respective role in the innovation value chain, whether it is responsible for idea generation alone or for seeing each idea through to its launch and scaling.
